BAKING STREAM for Övertorneå Hembygdsförening!

Good morning!

Yes, it’s actually finally happening! The only issue I can see with this as I’m currently planning everything out, is the fact my streaming laptop now has linux installed on it, and I’ve never tried streaming on it (But I’ve been installing OBS and it seems fine so far) – Everything else should be fine! … Famous last words.

Anyway! We are doing a baking stream this Sunday the 15th at 1pm UK time live on Twitch AND Owncast!

I hope to raise a few coins for Övertorneå Hembygdsförening – The community association that takes care of the ancient buildings and items up in Övertorneå. For the farmor Stina peeps who’ve watched the vloghallas, you are already familiar with them and how much they helped me – but for the others, I’ll actually go clip those bits out so that we have them to hand to literally show you what I mean.

This is the bit where I got to explore Aunesgården that is under their care (sorry for having most of it be in Swedish, but you should be able to see all the things at least – and if nothing else, hear my overwhelmed excitement in my gibberish language):

These people are lovingly restoring and caring for items of great cultural significance, and although we didn’t talk money when I was there, I do hope that a few coins in their purse might help them continue doing so. If nothing else, it’s a clear way to show our appreciation!

SO. Let’s talk Baking Stream.

I have set a goal amount of £200, but honestly, any money is good money for the cause! The GoFundMe is live here!
To incentivise donations on the day, I will be starting the baking stream Stone Cold Sober And Sensible, but:

• For every donation I will take a little sip of rum. (JUST A SIP)
• Any donation over £10 will get to choose EYE or EYEBROW in the chat and also get to pick… where I place them. SENSIBLY (Or if said donator doesn’t want that kind of power, I’m happy to do it, don’t worry!)
• Any donation over £30 makes me down a rum shot. (Yes I’ve set it that high because I don’t want to burn our house down)
• A donation of exactly £69 will… *sigh*… Will make me do the dance of my people for you. As well as a shot. Lord have mercy.

For any actual competent bakers out there who want to follow along – we will be making Drömmar (One of my granny’s best fika-cookies) after this very simple veganised recipe.

And for anyone who’s like: Wtf – that looks stupidly easy, why is this even a challenge? You don’t understand. I don’t bake. But I will make these good, and it’s such a simple recipe that surely… SURELY, I can’t fuck this up. I can’t. … I hope that hjortronsalt I bought 9(?) months ago is still fresh… Hmm.
