Here we go again….

Welp.

On Friday late afternoon, I got this email out of the blue which sorta sent me into crying panic mode. Luckily my husband was coming home from work literally like 30 second after I had finished reading the email. So he was met with me just sobbing at the front door, poor man XD

Now if you’ve been around the Artistically-Handpainted-Nipple-Selling block with me for a while, you’ll know that this is not the first time Stripe has sent me an account closure message.

But this time it seems to be permanent.

So:

What does this mean?

From the 25th of May next month, my business Stripe account will be shut down. This is the account I use to accept monthly subscriptions on my studio (for those who don’t/can’t go the Elavon route) and donations over on BuyMeACoffee.

The lovely members who went with the Stripe sub (which is most of you, because it was the easiest, top option!), your subscriptions should be automatically cancelled when my business account is blocked.

You should be able to see/change/cancel your current membership over here:

I’m paying for my studio membership with Stripe! What do I do?

(If you haven’t already) I would love for you to give Elavon a go! It’s the monthly subscription option that you can see at the bottom of the membership page. It seems to work fine for most people, but sometimes the sign-up process can be a bit clunky, so if you’ve tried it and it doesn’t work for your card, I also have Studio Memberships in Bulk available now:

This way you can pay through my normal shop (which is very easy and straight forward) for either 3 months, 6 months of a whole year of Studio Membership goodness up front!

You can also choose to hold on and wait a couple weeks until I’ve potentially got my replacement sorted:

What’s the plan?

I am currently working on getting another processor that would be able to handle subscriptions in the same simple way like Stripe did, and as I’m typing this I’ve already sent them some documentation that they requested for me to become a merchant with them. If that goes through, they’ll be the option replacing Stripe. However:

Elavon is still my number 1 preferred method and I wish that it was smooth for everyone to just swap to them! If you’re wanting to give them a go, you can always contact me over on discord, my email or mastodon and I will do my absolute best to help you if it’s clunky! Damned payment gateway shenanigans. *shakes fist at sky*

How are you feeling Jen?

I’m very tired and I just want to paint some female presenting nipples.

[A saltier Members-Only post will be made after this to give more context for those of you who are curious]

I feel like I’m missing something obvious, but how can I tell whether my monthly subscription is using Stripe or Elavon?

You’re on Stripe! I just checked 🙂 Basically, when you signed up, it was probably just a couple of clicks and super smooth. That would be stripe! If you had been brought over to another payment portal and potentially had a clunkier experience, that would’ve been Elavon.

I’m happy to help you switch to Elavon if you’d like!
You’d need to hop over to: https://www.jenniegyllblad.co.uk/wp/membership-account/ and change/cancel your membership over there to get started!

OR if that doesn’t work, there are the straight up collected bulk memberships that just go through my shop (again, super easy and no monthly sub cost)

I’ve updated stuff on my membership levels page to remove Stripe and give those options here:
