From the Archive [2010-2018] – A very traditional English pub

Ah Bristol Expo (RIP) What a time! I think this was first comic con where I had my own table? Or I may still have been sharing with Corey and Yoms. I’m not entirely sure? But we were collabing on the Steampunk transmedia project Clockwork Watch where I was doing the comic art. I was in full convention gear and Yoms was in his Steampunk inspired garb, while Corey was just looking casually cool as usual (that man doesn’t age btw. I don’t know what kind of witchcraft is responsible for that).

We desperately needed some food after a full day of convention work and walked into a pub that was behind a church. Oh boy. I am not exaggerating when I say that the punters (all of them very white and British) literally stopped doing what they were doing and just stared at us as we entered. Us being two black men and one foreign lady in fucking dancing skirts, gay flowers and feathers.

We bailed as soon as we realised we were in a racist pub 😀 Fuuuuck that
